Assistant Manager - Accounts Payables (Hypermarket Experience) U A E

Gulf Group Holding, a renowned business group in Ras Al Khaimah for over five decades, is currently seeking to hire an Assistant Manager - Accounts Payables. The group operates in various sectors, including construction, MEP, hypermarket retail, ready-mix concrete, healthcare, explosives, bakery, printing press, and real estate.


Group Company: RAK National Markets, a leading player in the retail sector in Ras Al Khaimah, currently operates 10 hypermarkets across different locations in the region.

Position Details

  • Position Title: Assistant Manager - Accounts Payables
  • Location: Ras Al Khaimah, UAE
  • Salary: AED 7,000 to AED 8,000 per month + standard expat benefits

Qualifications

  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s Degree (required)
    • Master’s Degree with a professional qualification (desired)
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 5+ years of related work experience, preferably in a retail supermarket environment
    • Strong expertise in managing invoice processing, reconciling supplier statements, and ensuring timely payments
    • Proficiency in SAP HANA 4 and MS Office
  • Skills:
    • Solid knowledge of accounting principles and local financial regulations, including VAT
    • Strong negotiation and communication skills
    • Excellent presentation skills

Key Responsibilities

  • Process and verify supplier invoices, ensuring all necessary documentation and authorization are provided
  • Accurately enter invoices into the accounting system in a timely manner
  • Prepare and process payments through various methods (cheques, bank transfers, etc.)
  • Reconcile supplier statements and promptly resolve any discrepancies with vendors
  • Obtain periodic balance confirmations and support the annual financial audit
  • Maintain accurate and organized records of all payable transactions
  • Assist in month-end closing activities by preparing accounts payable reports and necessary data
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and local regulations, including VAT
  • Prepare and manage cash flow for payables, ensuring efficient cash flow management
  • Implement and transform the payable function, including moving towards a system-based, host-to-host payment process
  • Manage BDA and other income performance, account for periodic accrual, and follow up on BDA revenues
  • Participate in payment term negotiations to secure favorable terms for the organization
  • Review all CapEx and purchase order requests
  • Collaborate with the IT department to improve performance using IT applications
  • Assist with supplier communication regarding payment status and resolve inquiries
  • Maintain a filing system for financial documents and invoices
  • Support the finance team during audits by providing required documentation
